remember when...

I'm not sure of the date but this was taken somewhere in the late-80's, probably 1986. We were having a picnic in Snow's Canyon.

Lauren, I'm sorry that you are not in these pictures, I think that you must have been asleep. Grandpa and Grandma may have been down for your blessing, the ages look right. Lee brought these to me when she came down last week for Al's latest surgery. He is doing great, just got a surprise release from the hospital and will be heading home today!

Oops!

While helping Alie and Tyler move their things from the condo to our garage, I told Alie to "just toss those down to me". Well, I caught it with my face. Looks good on me right?

Can't tell you how many people ask if your Dad hit me, goes to show that they don't know him very well do they?

This happened on Saturday, the 24th and the pic was taken on Tuesday, the 27th.

Grapevine Canyon

Yes, really wild grapes in southern Nevada!

The way into this canyon is a long walk up the dry wash

Along the way we met some of the wildlife. We stopped and watch this guy for a couple on minutes and as I started to take a step your dad grabbed my arm to stop me from.............

Stepping on this guy! He was going after the lizard and slithered between us!

yikes!!!

These rocks form the entry to the canyon
they are filled with hundreds of petroglyph's

It looks like the authors 'wrote' on top on each other

Then an easy scramble over some very slick rocks brings you to this.....

Wild grapevines growing where the springs come to the surface in the wash. There are several sections in the canyon that are filled with grapevines.

Beautiful!

Some of the other beautiful flowers that we saw

Savior of the World

Hurry and wait...

Instructions before going on stage

First costume, Temple Priest. Notice the beautiful blush on those cheeks. I teased him A LOT about the makeup and I don't think that I will have to start hiding my mascara from him!

There was a costume change between these but I don't have a picture of it. Here is his 'man on the street' look, pretty hot.

This costume is one that I made years ago when the ward did "A Night in Bethlehem" for Christmas.

The costume lady loved it when he showed her and she wanted him to use it. She only changed the color of the under robe, it was cream and she dyed it to make it browner.

These are some pictures of the set. It was still a few days before the play started and there were several things that had to be finished, but at least it will give you an idea of what it looked like.

The choir and orchestra were in what has been affectionately referred to as the 'pit'. This is a view of it from the stage.

The railing along the top is where the angels stood. I don't have a picture of Richard as an angel but I promise, he was a cute one.

This last one is a long view from the back of the pavilion.

I just want to say that the play was wonderful! I saw it three times and cried every night. I had never given any thought as to how Mary told Joseph she was pregnant or how he might have responded. The Spirit was so very strong throughout the play and I am grateful that Richard had the opportunity to participate, the blessings spilled over on to me.

Anniversary Narrows

Anniversary Narrows is much like the Narrows in Zion, only shorter. The water cut through the sandstone to form some beautiful rock formations.

These are some of the beautiful wild flowers that we saw on Saturday, we think they are desert poppies.

This trail is very narrow and we had to walk single file, but not sideways.

The sandstone was worn very smooth where the desert storms have rushed through this small canyon.

We are pretty happy with the pictures that we took, they turned out pretty well.

We hiked up the canyon, which is out by Lake Mead,
and had lunch, dinked around for a while and then headed back to town. It was great and we loved the hike!
