2:08!!!

Up before dawn on a Saturday morning...What's wrong with this picture??

I told you about this, remember?

Getting ready to run

We arrived at 6:30 am and milled around in 46 degree pre-sunrise glory                            with a pretty stiff wind.  Guess what?  A hoodie was not enough!

We met some interesting new friends today.......

Ohhh, this one.  I would have taken a picture from behind but your husbands are just too young to see what was there!!

And some old ones...

Poor Carolyn, Trevor sprained himself pretty good by jumping off a second story baloney onto a mattress and pillows.  So happy I had dainty, quiet girls (LOL)

Let's head to the startline...
get ready...

get set...

Go...

Eric Mohler (in the white shirt)
He had three goals:
finish the race
don't get hurt
finish under 2 hours

2 out of three aren't bad and that ankle will heal, eventually

Jenny Deering in purple
She had a goal:
finish under 2 hours

one out of one, cool !

261 - running at his own pace
His goals:
finish the race
finish under 2 hours 10 minutes

three miles, closest that I could get for photo ops :-(

kids race, check out Hannah Mohler's stride!
She is in the blue top and black shorts in the middle front

Trevor Mohler, how do you stride with four legs?

Charlie hasn't learned to like me yet, but he will

Hannah placed third behind a couple BIG boys,
still, check that stride!!

Michael Mohler with Charlie cheering him on

Justin Mohler, looks like he has that Mohler talent.

Good kids, awesome family!!

Now for the winner of the race....

1 hr 16 minutes
Don't remember his name, too bad

Eric Mohler 1 hour and 54 minutes.

Jenny Deering 1 hour and 58 minutes, didn't get the picture

and of course I messed up on Richard's finish but...

2 hours 8 minutes
Winner in My World!!
Awesome!!!

What happens in Vegas....

Obviously doesn't stay here or you'd NEVER get a blog from us!!

Your dad/poppa has taken up running again (yes, well some of you may have vague memories from 20 years ago, maybe not).

This is how it started, a random invite on facebook:

This destination race starts right outside of Las Vegas, Nevada in beautiful Boulder City. It descends from Bootleg Canyon Park down into Lake Mead National Park where it finishes on the beach. This breathtaking course is perfect for beginners, as well as those looking to best their time. The Saints and Sinners half Marathon is primarily downhill on paved bike trails. Most of the course follows Lake Mead’s Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail on the mountainside above the lake. The trail includes a series of five tunnels constructed in 1931 where runners can cool off in the shade as they experience a taste of history. It then descends two more miles down to Lake Mead’s Event Beach for the finish line festivities.

(I didn't write the description, I wouldn't have made it sound so fun)

And now the proof is in the training....

come on.......stretching is important....

and he's off

only 3 miles today

shots of part of the trail because it is pretty

The trail under Pecos, it seems to take forever for the city to clean up after our thunder storms.  He tells me now that it is clear and he doesn't have to dodge cars while crossing the road.                           Thank Goodness!

Another successful day!

I didn't get to his starting point before him to get pictures of his arrival because I stopped to look at and take pictures at the underpass.  He is excited to run again and is really enjoying himself.

[wondering how I took pictures during his run?  I have remembered that I also have a bicycle, however I haven't lost 30lbs :-( ]

Maybe one of these days I blog our progress on the bathroom.....maybe....
